What information we collect and why
Newsletter sign-up. If you sign up for our eNewsletter we collect your name and email address. We use them to send you our newsletter with news and events from The Back Lane Tavern and our sister pubs. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
Table bookings. Bookings are made through third-party booking services (OpenTable and ResDiary). When you book, those services collect your details (such as your name, contact details, party size and any dietary or special requests) and share them with us so that we can manage your booking. Our legal basis is to carry out your booking (contract). Please read OpenTable’s and ResDiary’s own privacy policies for how they handle your information.
Enquiries. If you phone or email us, we use the details you give us (such as your name, email address, telephone number and your message) to respond to you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps at your request before a booking or event.
Job applications. If you apply for a job by email or phone, we use your CV and contact details to assess your application and contact you about it. With your agreement we may also contact you about other suitable roles within Brewmish Ltd. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract of employment, and our legitimate interest in recruiting.
Payments. Card payments in the pub are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.
Website use. Our website collects technical information needed to run it securely, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, in server and security logs. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website (see Cookies below).
Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work unless you agree otherwise. When you first visit, a consent banner lets you choose whether to allow statistics (analytics) cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the “Manage consent” option on the website. Full details of the cookies we use are in our Cookie Policy.
Spam and security protection
Our newsletter form uses Google reCAPTCHA and hidden anti-spam checks to stop automated spam. reCAPTCHA sends information about your device and interaction to Google, subject to Google’s privacy policy. We also use security software that logs activity such as login attempts and blocks malicious traffic.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
